Dava Thai, a new restaurant opening in Mornington, required a logo design and branding that reflected their traditional thai cuisine but still retained a modern feel.
We created a suite of logos – which results in a greater range of flexibility when designing future marketing pieces. The logo can be used as just text – as the full logo with a flourished embellishment, or as just the circle.
The hand written DAVA add a more relaxed feel to the restaurant, representative of their casual group dining feature table and the takeaway option.
Gold is a colour particularly prevalent in Thailand’s culture, synonymous with luck and good fortune. We teamed this with a chocolate brown to tie the brand in with existing elements of the building (chocolate feature wall). The flourishing seen in the full version of the logo (centre) is based on traditional Thai stone carving, an element which we then used as a photo background in other area’s of the branding to help unify the look and feel of the projects.
The branding included the design of business cards, takeaway menu, shopfront signage, window decal, door signage, takeaway stickers and dine in menu.

We worked with Dava Thai to create, print and install all these projects on a tight deadline so they had everything in place for the opening of the restaurant. Grendesign is now assisting Dava Thai with mail drops and marketing strategies to help get the word out about their delicious food.
